Job Description

LB&B Associates Inc. is seeking a Facility Engineering Manager at its contract at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC.

Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be capable of providing staff supervision for departmental work schedules and assignments for the safe and efficient testing, maintenance, and repair of all physical plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping, and electrical systems; acts as backup and support for boiler and general maintenance engineers in interpreting mechanical specifications and operational manuals.
  • Must have knowledge of maintenance procedures for mechanical and plant equipment including pumps, fans, pneumatic controls, pressure-reducing valves, compressors, chemical testing and treatment, recordings, air filtration, humidification, and all fire equipment and sensors.
  • Must be customer-focused and dedicated to meeting customer expectations and requirements.
  • Must be able to work in AutoCad environment, modify drawings, and prepare as-built drawings.
  • Must be adept at planning, negotiating, developing schedules, managing others, as well as, anticipating and adjusting to issues and/or roadblocks.
  • Must be results driven, bottom line oriented and constantly seeking efficiency/productivity improvement.
  • Must adhere to and uphold all established Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Must adhere to and uphold established Company ethics and integrity values.


Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience (within the last 7 years) as a Facility Manager, Facility Engineering Manager, or related position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or related field.
